Bar Boatel Ahoi serves pizza and mussels & fries
The former cargo boat is located in the center of Kortrijk on the River Lys 500 m from the Grand Place, 700 m from the Broel Towers, about 1 km from the railway station and 3 km from Kortrijk Expo. The vessel was converted into a hotel and bar in 2008. Below-deck there are 9 cabins with each a shower and toilet, on the upper deck located is a terrace, the breakfast room /bar with a beautiful view of the river (cf. our "virtual tour" underneath "power boat rental"). There is a reception with limited opening hours from 16:00 till 22:00. There is bicycle parking right next to the boat.
The bar serves over 40 different belgian beers, is open daily from 16:00 to 22:00, except on sundays outside the summer months.
Please reserve on board before 22:00. You have a choice of 2 formulas:
Quick Ahoi: € 9.9 per person (coffee or tea, 1 croissant, 2 bread rolls, butter, jam , honey, nutella, speculoos paste, cornflakes, muesli, granola, milk, water), Ahoi Deluxe: € 14.9 per person (Quick Ahoi + 1 yoghurt, 1 extra roll, cheese and ham, orange juice, egg prepared to order).
We serve pizza, pasta and mussels.
Public parking at € 4 per day (Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m.- 7 p.m.) is widely available at the boatel. Parking is free on Sundays, public holidays and from 7 p.m.- 9 a.m (only alongside the river).
The 8 double cabins (approx 10 sqm, occupancy: Min. 1 / max. 2 adults) have two single beds 70 cm in width, wooden floor, shower / WC, heating, integrated air supply, folding writing table, facing the Lys through the porthole, free WIFI and LAN. 4 cabins have Proximus TV and are situated underneath the bar.
The large double cabin (about 14 sqm, occupancy: Min. 1 / max. 2 adults) is larger and features as an extra: a free cot (on request), wardrobe, hair dryer, Proximus TV and ergonomic beds by the company Ergodome.
Kortrijk in West Flanders is not only the city of the Golden Spurs and Museum Kortrijk 1302, but also: the Broeltorens, the Grand Place with belfry and town hall, the Beguinage, the Museum Texture, Shopping Centre " K in Kortrijk ", the Buda Island, and the river Leie... and Bootel Ahoi. From Kortrijk its only a 20 minutes' drive to Ypres. Here you will experience a goose bump moment during the daily performance of the Last Post at the Menin Gate at 20:00. Or visit some 40 minutes drive either the UNESCO and chocolate city of Bruges or Ghent, Europe's best kept secret according to Lonely Planet, tournai the oldest Belgian city, or Roeselaere with its new museum "KOERS" (Museum of Cycling), or Oudenaarde and the mythical hills of the cycling Tour of Flanders, or the city of Lille in France (tip: take the train from Kortrijk with the "Pass Trampoline Journée" back and forth to Lille for only € 8 per person, children under 12 free). Kortrijk is also the ideal base for bike rides along the river Lys and through the Lys region.
